What? "The Little Mermaid" goes Techno

Works For Me Wednesday~Memory Notebooks

(I let Talia pick them out)

This is my first time posting a "Works For Me Wednesday" but this idea came to me this week and thought it would be fun to share. I always have the best intentions in keeping track of cute things Talia does or says but it seems like I can't remember them all whenever I find the time to update her baby book. I usually jot them down quickly on random pieces of paper and then lose them. So I decided that I was going to buy a small notebook for both Talia and Liliana and keep it in the kitchen and then when the moment strikes I can quickly jot down the cute memory or saying that I want to keep. If and when I have time I can put it into their baby books or just keep them all inside these little notebooks. We'll see how well it works.

Serenity Now!!

What happened to my child?
Not sure if it is a case of anxiety as Liliana's arrival approaches or if Talia is simply going through a phase as she moves into being a 3 year old but this last week has been pretty hairy in terms of her behavior-especially the last couple of days. Ripping books during naptime, throwing tantrums, telling me "No!" and running away are just the tip of the iceberg. I hope that this will pass by quickly!!
Please pray for us!!!

Maybe this will work?

I love my husband!

I love my husband (Disney obsession & all)!!
He has been so patient with me the last few weeks, helpful and willing to run to the store with last minute cravings
(popsciles and turkey burgers).
I am so thankful for him and appreciate him so much!

Our Morning~Painting picture frames

Trying to keep things somewhat intersting for Talia as we wait for Liliana's arrival. I must admit we did watch Dora and some Veggie Tales as well this morning.

To Whom It May Concern....

Current feeling word: Cranky

I know that posting a poll on my blog with various options invites people to post their opinion and that I really shouldn't be upset by what the poll says. I'm also aware that I was the one who posted the poll options therefore giving people options to voice their opinion. However, I was quite disappointed this morning to find that someone really thinks that I will have this baby past my due date. So to whom ever cast their vote as "past due date" I say....pooh, pooh to you!
*Note: I blame my hormones on this post...hopefully I didn't offend anyone!

Our morning at the park

We headed up to one of the parks up the hill this morning to enjoy the sunshine, play with some friends, and get in a walk as well. Here are some cute highlights....

Talia's New Favorite "Toy"

Talia thinks that the Boppy pillow is just right for being cozy....I've been trying to remind her that I'm going to need to use it very soon. Hopefully it won't be too much of an issue.

On the way to the park...

Our conversation as we were getting ready to head up to the park this morning....
Talia: "Mommy, why can't you wear your shoes?" (as I put my flip-flops on)
Me: "Sometimes when mommies have babies in their bellies their feet get swollen and hurt and their feet can't fit into their shoes."
Talia: "Oh sweetheart, I'm sorry!"
Talia: "I'm frustrated!"
Me: "Why are you frustrated?"
Talia: "Because you can't wear your shoes!"
Talia: "When Liliana comes out you can wear them again."

Waiting for Liliana~I love what I do....

Maybe she'll have a career in song writing...these are all original!

"A song for my sister" by: Talia

"I love what I do..." by: Talia

Childlike faith

Matthew 18:1-4

"At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."

I love this scripture and having a daughter to share this truth with and raise in the ways of the Lord is an on-going reminder of how simple faith can be. I have been meaning to post this story for over a month now and am just getting around to it. On the night before Talia's birthday party she woke up around 11pm crying (she doesn't have a history of nightmares or waking up unless she has an ear infection so this was weird). Thinking she would just go back to sleep I waited a while before going up to check on her. When she didn't stop crying I went upstairs to see what was going on. After kneeling by her bed, talking to her and praying with her she asked me if I could tell her the "Talia, God's princess" story. Basically I have this story I created to explain the gospel to Talia in 3 year old friendly language. She loves it and often will ask me to share it with her. After I told her the "Talia, God's princess story" she asked me to sing to her..she wanted the cup song of course (You are my All in All). As I was singing she stopped me and asked me about the lyrics "Taking my sin, my cross, my shame". She wanted to know if Jesus is the one who could take sins away...she said: "He does it because we can't do it ourselves right Mommy?" I told her she was right then she asked me how does he take them away and if he could take hers away. I explained to how Jesus takes our sins away and how we can pray to him to come live in our hearts. She then told me that she wanted to pray to tell Jesus that she wanted him to do that for her. Her prayer was the most sincere and sweet one I have ever heard...it went something like this: "Dear Heavenly Father, I want Jesus to take my sins and come in my heart...I love you, In Jesus name, Amen". She then gave me a hug and a kiss and went back to sleep. I then went downstairs crying and shared with Kyle what had happened. I think it is the most precious experience to watch your child explore their faith and ask questions. I love that I get to be Talia's mommy and watch how her faith is being shaped. Glory to God as He works in her life!!

Our dinner conversation tonight

Maybe I'm the only one who thought this was funny or maybe it was the look on Talia's face as she talked but our dinner conversation tonight had me giggling for a while.

Talia: "I can't wait to meet my sister!"
Kyle: "What do you think she'll look like?"
Tal: "Me"
Kyle: "Some people think you look like me"
Tal: with a confused and funny face-"Don't say that I look like you"
Kyle: "Why?"
Tal: Cause it's funny...I'm a little kid"

Happy Earth Day

Let us worship the creator rather than focusing so much on the creation today!
~Psalm 96~
Sing to the Lord a new song
sing to the Lord, all the earth.
Sing to the Lord, praise his name;
proclaim his salvation day after day.
Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among the peoples.
For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
he is to be feard above all gods.
For all the gods of the nations are idols,
but the Lord made the heavens.
Splendor and majesty are before him;
strength and glory are in his sanctuary.
Ascribe to the Lord, O families of nations,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
bring an offspring and come into his courts.
Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness;
tremble before him, all the earth.
Say among the nations, "The Lord reigns."
The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved;
he will judge the peoples with equity.
Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
let the sea resound, and all that is in it;
let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them.
Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy;
they will sing before the Lord, for he comes,
he comes to judge the earth.
he will judge the world in righteousness
and the peoples in his truth.
~Psalm 108:1-5~
My heart is steadfast, O God;
I will sing and make music with all my soul.
Awake, harp and lyre!
I will awaken the dawn.
I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations;
I will sing of you among the peoples.
For great is your love, higher than the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens,
and let your glory be over all the earth.

Confession

Sadly Kyle got me addicted to this new game (Bubblets) this weekend as he has it on his phone. We downloaded a version on our home computer and it has been calling my name on/off for the past couple of days. What a (fun) waste of time.....

Tired & Frustrated

So.....not in labor yet. On the bright side, Kyle and I got to have a date at Triage where I got hooked up to monitoring machines, take an hour walk and get checked to find out nothing had happened so we got sent home. Keep you posted as things progress...or not?

Woven & Spun

Not sure if this will end up being a false alarm or not but we are heading to the hospital as I have been having contractions 3-5 minutes apart for the last 2 hours. Please pray for a safe, healthy (& quick) delivery, for a healthy baby girl and for Talia as she transitions to a big sister!

Using Mommy's Christmas present

Yummy!!

Snow....in April?

Hard to believe it was 70 degrees last weekend and is supposed to be almost 60 degrees on Wednesday. At least one little girl and her daddy enjoyed the cold April weather this afternoon!

Baby update #2

Still waiting to see if I'm actually going to go into active labor....been having some contractions & cramping throughout the day, nothing consistent just uncomfortable. We'll keep you posted if anything changes!

The waiting game begins

Had my last ultrasound today and Liliana was measuring in at about 6 lbs. 5 oz. so far. My Dr. predicts that she will be about a 7 1/2 lb. baby...we'll see. Got to see Liliana stretch, yawn and her chubby cheeks! Been having some mild contractions, a little more intense than regular Braxton Hicks so hopefully that means something is starting to happen. I can't wait to meet this new little lady!! Any predictions on when she will be here?
